The vehicles of the Bourg-Saint-Maurice funicular designed by CFD Industrie and manufactured by the Montmirail workshops were delivered in 1989. Each of the two-vehicle trains can carry 276 passengers over a difference in altitude of 800 metres and a length of almost 3 kilometres.

The return of funicular construction in France

The trainset has 3 bogies, 1 at each end and 1 central bogie supporting the two boxes. The track at the start of Bourg st Maurice being horizontal, the floor of each box is inclined by half the maximum inclination of the line.
